Attempted to answer this earlier but it didn't post. Strange electrical behavior is almost always caused by loose or corroded ground connections. Carefully remove each and every one and clean the surface of the frame and eyelets and tighten carefully. Start with the battery ground, it will sometimes work fine with the starter load but lesser loads will not work correctly. Max
